Gingerbread Coffin [Action/Video]

[Zenobia had just wanted to take another swim, but after avoiding a wildcard effect for so long, she's been hit with a doozy. All of her limbs have been replaced with copies of the wing on her shoulder, and it takes much effort and luck for her to get back to the beach. There is a flurry of seven wings as she tries to propel her way forward, but she's not getting very far for her efforts. The vine is recording the whole thing.]

Hey, can anyone hear me? The water's cursed me. I'm kinda in a spot, here!

Different areas do, too. The judge of the dead in the region I come from is a different one than the one on the main continent for example, and the people go to a different netherworld too!

I'd be more inclined to agree if I hadn't lost my powers. [Though that's still not completely honest. She'd still be all about going after the ladies. There is something to say for the thrill of battle, however.]

I was sealed in an enchanted mirror for a long long time, and my powers mostly faded away while I was imprisoned. I would still be sealed if the queen hadn't brought me here.

Sealed, really. Guess they do things like that in your world too, then. Did a shrine maiden do it? Some priests or monks?

[She didn't particularly seem to mind a once-trapped demon, though, it seemed to be mostly curiosity driving her to ask the question. Not a typical holy one for sure, that one.]

Yeah. Good guess. It was a High Priest and some Holy Knights. I didn't do anything to deserve it, either. They just hate demons.

Guess your priests are pretty trigger happy too, then. Sounds like Gensokyo's shrine maiden a bit, she tends to attack random demons she comes across when something happens.

I'm pretty sure Zera's policy concerning demons is either kill 'em or seal 'em. ...Zera's the kingdom the High Priest served.

Huh, Gensokyo's really different there, I guess. Reimu mostly seems to be 'beat em up if they get in her way', but it works, for the demons, too, so it's fine.

Gensokyo sounds like an exciting place. A "shrine maiden" sounds like a holy person. Does this "Reimu" work for you?

Yeah. There are some people around here who are unfriendly towards me because of my wing, but most people are really nice. I really lucked out.

She's actually completely honest here, she did exactly that in canon.

She does! After I destroyed her shrine and threatened Gensokyo with an earthquake, she fought me twice. It was quite fun, all things considered.

Seems so, though I really wouldn't know why people'd freak out over a wing like that.

Wow! So, why did you destroy her shrine? Was she misbehaving?

Yeah. I don't see it as such a big deal. In my world, though, a lot of people aren't comfortable with anything that's different from what they're used to. And they hate demons a lot. So anything that might be demonic is... well... not exactly accepted.

Alice in QoH is still grumpy about the hail.

No, just wanted to get her angry, really. That's also why I sent a lot of ghosts to heaven, to piss off the grim reaper and the netherworld ghosts. And why I made it hail on Alice's house. It was pretty fun to be chased by all of those people at once...once they figured out who was behind, anyway. Some people just don't follow simple clues, what's with that?

I guess that's why places like Gensokyo exist. I think it was meant as a sanctuary for demons or something.

[She did it just to anger them? Okay, maybe this isn't the nicest person ever. But that can't be. She's talking to Zenobia now and being so pleasant. She's keeping Zenobia company while she's immobile and bored. And she's cute. Surely these people deserved what they got. And anyway, she's just playing pranks, right? ...Okay, maybe not, but Zenobia likes Tenshi too much already, so she'll just not worry about it.]

Ah. Did they ever catch you?

Huh. That sounds great. So any demon can live there and not be hunted or judged?

She was basically the reverse villain, trying to make an elaborate plot so people NOTICE.

Nearly didn't, they missed a lot of the signs. I made them obvious, like ominous mist and stuff, but some even missed THAT! But eventually they did notice and I got a lot of fights from it, it was pretty nice, although Yukari trying to kill me for it and destroying Reimu's shrine AGAIN after I had just rebuilt it was a bit uncalled for, I think.

Well, mostly. Of course, if a demon's out in the area of an incident, chances are that they'll be suspected. But the worst that happens is getting shot down in a spellcard duel. Otherwise they seem to get along fine.
