[Guess who's holed up in the library? The eternal bookworm Venom has been keeping herself occupied by soaking up what information she can about the place. Though she's not sure how much more fiction she can take. It's like every book is porntastic...]

They're all erotic books. Isn't there anything about the Garden or its surrounding area? Unbelievable...

[She goes back to searching for a non-erotic book, and she pretty much fails at it.]

[Venom freezes in place, but not before she slams the book shut. She doesn't turn around despite not recognizing the voice behind her.]

It's a collection of short stories. This library seems to carry them exclusively.

[The book is closed just a little late, though. Larxene has seen the basic content. It's hardly a surprise, given the usual shelves, but it still makes her smirk.]

Yes, I've noticed. And do you like...that kind of thing?

[Venom's very happy that her face is hidden, because her cheeks are nice and pink right about now.]

I cannot say the writing is terrible. As for the content, I'm not quite sure what to think of the focus on female love.

[Too bad Larxene has exactly no sense of personal space. She reaches out, flicking Venom's hair back from her face.]

Really? You like reading, mm, 'lips like sweet wine,' and 'heaving bosoms'?

[Venom narrows her eyes and pulls away when her face is revealed. She's getting annoyed, but she's keeping a calm appearance. Last thing she wants is to start a fight in a library.]

Please don't touch me, and I was reading these because there's not much else to read.

[But if she thinks Larxene's not explicitly trying to get a rise out of her, she's wrong. Larxene loves to bother people. So while she doesn't touch Venom again, she stays closer than is strictly necessary.]

Mm, I suppose there isn't. But who knows, maybe you'll come to love it~

[Venom keeps alert, but she doesn't make any moves, either. And she's trying to ignore Larxene's warmth.]

I can appreciate the quality of writing thus far. Still, I would rather read about the history of this place.

Of course, quality. [And Larxene's tone can make it obvious she doesn't believe that one bit.] What history is there to know? We got pulled here. It's pretty and bo~ring. But at least the company can be nice.

[A pause, before her eyes are shining.] You look awfully tense.

Well, I'm curious as to why and how long this has been going on. The Queen has to be relatively powerful to pull off such a feat.

[Tense? Nawww...]

From what I've heard, the Queen just wants us to, aha, make nice. And for how long, who knows? I've been here, my, a few months now?

[Well she's going to lean in closer. To check, of course.]

So this has been going on for a while. If only I knew her motivations as to why she wants us to be nice.

[Venom doesn't move, but she does stare at the blonde girl with semi-hidden eyes.]

I'm positive.

I think she just wants to be entertained. We're her little dolls, you see.

[That enduring stoicism is both intriguing and obnoxious. Larxene is just forced to try and push her a little further, reaching out to run a finger up under her chin.

[Venom wrinkles her nose at the thought of being someone's toy. The nerve of the Queen for kidnapping her for such a purpose! Though her thoughts are pushed aside when Larxene touches her chin.

She doesn't pull away this time, but she does hold still.]

And what are you trying to accomplish, miss?

[And it is a curious reaction indeed that Venom stands still like that, not at all what Larxene is expecting. She moves, then, brushing that long white hair aside again.]

I wonder. Perhaps I'm just trying to entertain myself? Perhaps I find you interesting.

[The gesture makes Venom pull back again, but this time it's a bit slower. Only one person can touch her like that-!]

I'm hardly interesting.

[Larxene laughs softly, yes, that is much more what she had in mind.]

Oh, I wouldn't say that at all~ Look at how you hide that pretty face. Surely you must have a reason, mm?

[Pretty...? That makes Venom gasp softly as she's not used to such compliments. She feels her cheeks getting a touch warm.]

I have my reasons for concealing my face.

Yes, I figured, and I want to know just what those reasons are. I'm sure you have a lot of interesting secrets, too.

Perhaps, but I don't discuss them in public places. Nor do I discuss them with young women I just met.

How disappointing~ But I'm nothing if not persistent. [And that is not a trustworthy smile at all she's flashing.]

But I'm sure we can be good friends, soon enough. Call me Larxene.

[Venom senses the truth behind that smile, but she's not sure if she should dislike it. She dismisses it as mere curiosity for now.]

Venom, hmm? Well isn't that an interesting name. Are you dangerous, Venom?

[Venom looks up.]

Only if the situation requires me to be dangerous.

[If there's a threat there, Larxene seems remarkably unruffled.]

And what kind of situations would those be?

If my life is in peril, or if I have an assignment that needs to be completed. As for my assignments, I don't have any pending since I'm away from my associates.
