[If you have a keen nose or happen to be passing by the spaceship, if might become apparent that someone's spent the better part of the day baking with maple syrup. (Adversely, if you happen to be inside the spaceship, chances are good you've already found the freshly baked stash of maple cookies big enough to feed the Royal Canadian Air Force (circa 1946, though) and are stuffing your American face.)

Should the maple not entice you, maybe the young nation in braided pigtails and an oversized sweatshirt repeatedly whipping a small rubber ball at the side of the spaceship will. With the stick in her hand, she catches the ball neatly no matter which way it bounces back to her, running back and forth to catch it, only to jerk the handle of the lacrosse stick, sending the ball soaring back to the outer wall of the spaceship once more.

It's obvious Canada is taking this as a serious bout of training, cursing those rare times she misses. It's been too long since hockey season ended for her and she's gotten slack at finding people to play lacrosse with her. She misses being able to pour herself into her national sports, letting herself get caught up in the fun and comraderie of the game, whatever it happens to be.

What probably isn't obvious is how sad, homesick, or absolutely tired of being forgotten she is.]

They're okay, but you're not really missing out.

There's not much to do here, really, is there? Does the game usually involve slamming the ball into a wall?

Theoretically, you play on teams, passing it to each other to try to get goals in whatever you define as your goal area. I have a couple extra sticks, but I don't think anyone here plays.

Maybe you could teach a few people how?

I wouldn't mind learning. It would be more fun than hitting the--uh, flying thing. [She still isn't quite clear on spaceships okay.] Did something happen you didn't like, too?

Thank you. But, umm... yep, pretty much.

It sometimes takes a while to get used to dealing with angles and all that, but I'm sure you'll catch on.

I've heard people come back sometimes? [Vaguely, anyway. She watches.] It can't be too hard, right...?

[Deciding Canada doesn't want to talk about it, she focuses on catching the ball instead.

And she swats it out of the stick.]

Ah, it fell out...

Try to move the net with the ball when you catch it, okay?

[Attempt two! She looks far more serious about this than someone learning a game really should.

This time she ends up throwing it in the direction of the ship. Too much moving.]

Good progress. Now somewhere between A and B.

[She is the most serious. She will catch it this time, she will!

And she does.]

Ah!

[She looks really excited for a second, before it falls out.]

W-well, for a moment...

[Look, flustered modern!Lithuania is in there somewhere.]

You're getting it, really. Why don't you try scooping it up and throwing it back to me?

Um, okay.

[Cue thirty seconds of pushing it uselessly around with her stick before she glares at the ball and scoops it--by which she of course means she throws it straight up into the air..]

Um, um...

You're getting there. Let's see if you can catch it and throw it back this time.

Y-you've just been doing it for a long time! [She is good at some things......]

W-well, okay...

Only a few hundred years. But don't worry, I had to learn, too.

[She doesn't so much catch and throw it as hit it like she was trying to slice it in half sword-style.]

It's only been--no more than fifteen minutes for me...
