Sora (♀)
[When the video pops up this time, there is Sora. She's sitting at the base of a tree, a strange, star-shaped fruit in hand. She's almost smiling.]

...On the Islands, there's this magical fruit. And legend goes that if two or more people share this fruit, their destinies become intertwined. Because of this, the paopu fruit is almost sacred on the Islands. You shouldn't pick it unless there's a reason. It's used in our wedding ceremonies, primarily, but sometimes, kids like to talk about sharing it between childhood sweethearts.

[And then, she sighs, placing the little fruit down in the water of the tiny pond surrounding the grove.]

...It's a piece of home. I guess that's why I made it. So... Be careful, okay? The star-shaped fruits on the edge of the orchard are paopu fruits, and you shouldn't share them or bake them into anything unless you want to deal with being bound to someone else forever.

[And then Sora goes back to reminiscing about the Islands.]

[It is dusk, and the area behind Sephiroth is too dark to ascertain exactly where she is, but it is clear that she is alone, in a place where tall trees cast shadows. She seems thoughtful, but not overly emotional, perhaps even slightly detached, as she speaks.]

There is an idea that has been preoccupying me for some time. Once, I spoke to the Queen and one of her associates--or subordinates--and they said certain things to me that I have not been able to forget.

I was told that we have not truly been removed from our worlds, but that only a part of us has been taken, and while we are here, our other selves, our true selves, continue on in our daily lives.

It is possible that we are merely puppets, simulacra made for the Queen's use or entertainment, and not the people we believe ourselves to be. What if what was taken from us was a copy of our memories, which was then given to a false form? If so, when we leave this place, we will disappear. Our existence and our time here will have been meaningless. Those who have vanished and then return claim to have new memories from their own worlds, but what if they are nothing but new constructs with more stolen memories?

I know of no way to test this theory, but it troubles me. If that were the nature of our existence, I do not know if I would choose to exist.

[Fate is a very family-oriented person. It didn't take much for her to think of her friends as family, but there are those - the people she's been with for years or people she's formed extremely close bonds with - who she considers real family, on the same level as Lindy, Chrono, Amy, and their kids. Hayate and the Wolkenritter are such people.

She's also deeply affected if something bad happens to said family. So when she woke up to find Hayate and Vita gone, with neither of them in their usual hang-out spots... well. It was like when Nanoha disappeared all over again. She's not sitting around moping in her room all day, but her smile isn't nearly as bright as it usually is, and there isn't much enthusiasm in her actions.

Speaking of actions! She can currently be found doing the following:

A: Fishing. She's gotten pretty good at it over her time in the Gardens, but that's definitely not showing today. She's been so distracted by her thoughts that she's let a few fish get away with her bait.

B: Cooking. After spending most of the day just barely catching enough to feed her remaining friends, Fate is now preparing the fish in the Japanese inn's kitchen. Her melancholy attitude is definitely showing; most of the time she tries to cook a large, hearty meal. But the dish tonight is simple, easy to put together... which is good, considering her mind really isn't on her work.

C: Relaxing. In the inn's public hot spring, to be exact. She's submerged up to her nose in the hot water, watching the steam rise off the surface. It's quite obvious her mind is currently elsewhere.

Feel free to bother her at any time! She may be upset, but that doesn't mean she's going to become antisocial.]
