[Amamiya, dressed in a simple blue one-piece swimsuit, stands at the water's edge, letting it lap at her ankles. It had been so long since she had swam in the ocean - the lake just wasn't the same.]

[She runs forward into the surf, diving right into the oncoming waves and down below the surface once she's out far enough. She kicks her legs in practiced motions and slides through the water smoothly.]

[When she needs a breath, she surfaces, a rare smile spreading across her face. This reminded her of...something. Something she couldn't remember, even though she was pretty sure she should.]

[Her smile turned briefly into a frown. That was going to bother her.]

[ooc: Beach shenanigans! Open to anyone. Amamiya will, naturally, wind up suffering a wildcard effect of some kind, although I haven't decided what it should be yet.]

[Amamiya falls backwards into the water and starts lazily paddling backward.]

[She sits down, letting the water flow around her and enjoying the feel of the ocean.]

[Amamiya raises her head to look directly at her, and raises an eyebrow.]

It was just a general comment. [She turns and smiles.] If you want flirting, I'd be happy to go that direction, though.

[She spins about and dives back down beneath the water's surface, emerging a few moments later a short distance away.]

[Mami had come out to the beach to see what all the fuss was about, having heard about the strange effect that came from swimming in the ocean. As such, she's here fully dressed, standing on the shore and just watching the water.

It is pretty, she'll admit.

When she notices Amamiya, she casually waves, remembering her from the robot incident.]

Hope you don't mind, but for this thread I'll be playing her after her wildcard starts to kick in...

[Amamiya blanched as Mami waved to her. She was still lurking out in the waves, trying to decide what she should do about this before she returned to shore. The last thing she wanted was to be noticed right now...much less by someone she knew. She, too, recognized Mami from the robot incident.]

[So instead she took the slightly cowardly option, and dove under the waves, as though Mami could be fooled into thinking she hadn't been there.]

Hm...is she snubbing me, I wonder? I didn't think we got along that badly last time.....

[Amamiya has to come up for air eventually. She peeks up over the water's edge, hoping that Mami would be gone...but no such luck. She's still there. Watching.]

[Amamiya begins trying to communicate her desires to her through body language. Go away, she says with a shooing motion.

[Well, that's....geez.

Mami does a shrugging motion with her palms up: what did I do?]

[Amamiya slapped her hand onto her face, and slowly dragged it down in a gesture of frustration. She spent another few moments trying to pantomime out Now is not a good time before realizing she should just use her telepathy.]

[She sent a message flying her way: Right now is not a good time for me.]

[dude she just wants a hug- I mean no, okay, voice in her head.....A'IGHT.

Mami shrugs again, but turns to leave. However, she doesn't exit the beach; just sits on the sand with her back to the ocean, pretending to be interested in some sea shells. She's curious now, and is willing to wait until Amamiya has to come ashore to find out just what's up.]

[Amamiya waits a few moments until she thinks Mami's left her alone, and then swims to shore. She begins sneaking up the bank, trying to avoid contact.]
