You doo seem like you'd be a good candidate for understanding the whole nation business, if you did happen to fall in love with one of them. It's okay to be romantic, I think. One of the people closest to me is terribly romantic and she always seems happy to be so. Then again, I don't think my neighbour has a romantic bone in her body and she's pretty happy too. Maybe that's not part of it, then. Maybe it just depends on the person. Some people are just as well off without that sort of companion has they are with them. My concern is that it's hard to tell what sort of person you are until you've already invested your heart - not to mention someone else's - in a relationship that may or may not have any chance of working.
