[The mirror shows what should be a familiar sight by now--a young woman in a white arrival's dress. Except...this one has the wide slit-pupiled eyes and animate ears of...a cat. The gaze she examines the mirror with is intelligent and curious, and she sits back after a moment. Her face sets with determination, the voice issuing from her clear and firm.]

Your Majesty. I'm not sure I understand what's going on, but...if I am the one you truly need, please let these other girls go. They've done you no harm, and their families miss them dearly.

And as far as I understand-- [she looks down for a moment, showing the briefest sign of hesitation.] You've...obtained what you wanted, right? There's no need to continue this any further. And my friends...Veigue...I don't want anyone to come to any more harm.

If you can hear me, please stop this. You're the one with the power to do so.

[her expression isn't pleading; it's almost sad. The mirror seems to take this as a cue to go dark.]

Months? [this is a troubling revelation.] I'm so sorry...I wish there were something I could do.

Where I'm from, there are Gajuma as well as Huma like yourself. But it seems like I'm the first Gajuma many people here have met. [that last sentence comes out a little awkwardly, almost hesitant, in contrast with her usual steady speech.]

That's a common sentiment here. [ She puts on another little smile. Just because it's a common sentiment doesn't mean it isn't a good one. The feeling of wanting to do something useful and being unable to is a very familiar one for her. ]

The Queen offered to let us go home once, but it seems she's changed her mind since.

[ There's a slight arch of her brows at the awkwardness in Claire's tone, but even for someone as perceptive as Caprica it's impossible to discern why. Still, she takes note of it in the back of her mind. ]

It sounds like an interesting place. Your world.

[it's a baffling possibility, but one she can't ignore anymore.]

So there are many worlds, after all?

That seems to be the case.

[ She manages a small smile. ]

Not something I believed either, when I first came here. Where I come from, the idea of other worlds — other universes — is... [ Not something the Cylons have ever concerned themselves with. ] strictly theory.

I'm from a country village; the most important thing we thought about was whether our crops would grow the next year. But getting to experience it for myself...it's overwhelming, but a little amazing.

[ Caprica... doesn't know what that's like at all. To have concerns that are that mundane. But she gives a soft laugh anyway, approaching sympathetic. ]

I think it was overwhelming for most of us. To be taken away from everything we knew before.

Yes...I can only hope we'll be able to return soon.
