Thank you, it was a long battle and... I think it hurt my brother to see me go but I needed to do what was best. So, in 1991 I became independent and... Matvey, I guess you where you are from, was the first to recognize me. It was very nice, and is hard but I am trying.

I'll remember that. I'm so used to Russia being the little sister. It seems like everyone is opposite. Between my version of the world and yours, I mean. And, umm... My Ukraine calls me Ryta sometimes. Or lots of people call me Maggie, if you prefer.

I think they would be very similar. [She gives a small shrug and a soft smile] I do not blame them for who they heff become. Sometimes I t'ink I could heff done more or paid better attention to what was going on with t'em. Maybe taught Vanya a bit more compassion and not to hurt people to get his way.

[Shakes her head sadly] T'ere are many t'ings I wish I could back and change about t'em... but is in past now right? They are family and I still love them even if t'ey are crazy.
