o3. video.

[ the video opens on “Iris” sitting in some secluded part of the Garden, wearing a warm but nervous smile. It's difficult to ignore the weight of what's happening at the moment, and she'd hate to seem inappropriately cheerful. Dahlia is, in truth, fairly surprised that two or three dead cats caused such a stir, but the Queen's caused an even bigger one, and she's more interested in the fact that whatever curse had been placed upon her has lifted ]

Hello, everyone. [ she bows her head towards the mirror, but then looks a little lost for words ] I, um—before I start, I'd like to thank everyone who helped me, back when I first arrived. I-I was so scared, and honestly, I don't know what I would have done without everyone's kindness and support.

It got me thinking. There's a lot going on here at the moment, isn't there? The Queen, I do hope she's alright... oh, but really, there isn't a thing I can do! I'm not very strong, and I'm not particularly good at coming up with plans, but I'd hate to be useless to all the honourable people here. [ she sighs, and for a moment is lost in thought ] Ah! W-well, I suppose there is one thing.

Back in my own world, I lived in a temple, you see. It served as a retreat from the modern world, and we'd often have a great number of weary travellers stop by. I don't mean to boast, and please don't think me immodest, but I was often told that I was an excellent listener. In difficult times like these, I know that people can't help but have a lot on their minds, and it's important that we help one another out. So please, if there's anything you wish to discuss with someone – anything at all – don't hesitate to meet with me.

I suppose swallowing your pride does get easier with age. Don't go breaking your hip just to get peoples' trust.

What? A friend can't come to say hello?

Oh, that hurts. You really should be more cooperative, you know. I know your real nature, so what? Yes, I can blackmail you or rat you out or any other number of things, but don't you should at least try to make the best of this?

Who knows, maybe working together will be just as fun as it is practical.

[ An ever so slight smirk in response to the concubine comment. Her frustration with the whole 'girls kissing girls' thing aside, she was finding it very, very nice that someone was actually willing and able to take pot-shots at her. ]

Our methods for gaining trust may be very different, but I think that right there is how we would benefit each other. I don't hide the fact I am nearly intolerable and dangerous, but people still attach themselves to me for my abilities and title, even if I have no evidence for the latter.

You do the opposite, relying on the compassion of others and you are more likely to get useful personal information with your act.

You and I play the role of good friends. I get points from everyone when they see big, mean Azula protecting and caring for a defenseless and terrified savant; you get the aforementioned protection, involvement in any plans I develop, and...I will also keep your true nature to myself.

[ Yes, that last part is just outright blackmail. ]

What do you say?

Good.

[ Plus one concubine ally. ]

I don't trust you one bit, just to make it clear.

Good to see you can lie again.

Ha.

Things shouldn't be nearly as boring from now on, at least.
