[action]
[Jessica's recovered slightly from the horrible failure that was her first attempt. Now it's time to show the gardens she means business! With the aid of a lot of dirt and a small pile of draft paper.
[First up: three more towers, with windows all around, for lookout. Internal elevators, so people can easily get to the tops. Then, a keep below, fortified and with plenty of rooms for storage and living and doctoring. A high, thick wall encircling, wide enough to walk on, with occasional guardhouses for supply storage. Fortified entrances at each cardinal point. A clear plastic roof stretching over the rest of the complex to shield from aerial attacks. And, once the basic shell is there, something she's been wanting for a while: interior plumbing, plus a sprinkler system just in case.
[She stands back, observing the result with satisfaction. Once she's inspected the area, she opens up a mirror on the vine.]
I've finished the fortress I was planning. If anyone who's an actual fighter or has, y'know, experience with this stuff wants to check it out and make sure it's up to code, that'd be great. Mostly I just want people to know where it is for the next time we get overrun with things trying to kill us. Just look for the towers.

Re: action
Hopefully that won't be a problem for us. Though given the fact that people apparently come back here...
action
Yes, I'd heard about that. That is fortunate. I suppose we don't have to worry as much as we would otherwise.
[She removes the final item types from the chest. They are similar, yet different. Both are metal discs attached to what appear to be shimmering cloths, but one disc is Sun-shaped with a golden cloth, the other Moon-shaped with a silver cloth.]
These are Light Curtains and Lunar Curtains. If you're being attacked, you can use one of these. Activate them, and they'll form a temporary barrier of light around you. Light Curtains will lessen the damage from any physical attack. Lunar Curtains will do the same, but they protect from magical attacks. Each curtain can only be used once.
Re: action
Well, we don't so long as it keeps happening. I don't think there's been a lot of chances to test it, and I wouldn't want to be any part of experimenting on it.
Only once. [Noted!] How long do they last?
action
Yes, that's not an experiment that should be performed on anyone. [She frowns, briefly.]
I would say up to twenty minutes, or maybe a little more, although it's impossible to be precise with such items. If your primary goal is to escape danger, then I'm sure the barrier would last for the time it took you to flee. I don't use these; I use Materia, but I know it would take a lengthier battle to dispel their protection.
Re: action
Twenty minutes is a pretty long time. Hah, I could watch most of a TV show with that. Of course, even if there were TVs here... (Wow, that was a stupid joke...)
