[So, Misty was just getting back to the Cerulean Gym, presiding over as the Gym Leader. She had battled a few trainers before stopping for the night and sleeping.

Then she ended up here... wherever that was. Well, time to use the Vine... whatever that was too! A young red-haired girl appears on the mirror, back in her regular clothes with her backpack, an Azurill cradled in one arm, and her pink Pokegear in the other, which she quickly turns off with a sigh.]

I can't get in touch with my sisters... They'll never be able to take care of the gym without me!

[Turns attention towards mirror, still vaguely irritated.]

Hey, a weird-looking Meowth gave me something that told me this would help me. First of all, can anyone tell me where I am right now? I need to get back to Cerulean City!

It looks like a deformed youkai.

What's a youkai? And Azurill's not deformed!

A catch all term for stuff like vampires, magicians and beings like that.

I've never heard that word used for things like that before.

... I can kind of get why you'd think that though. Pokémon do have abilities and attacks that humans aren't really capable of.

Well, for example- [Looks at Azurill, smiling and determined.]

Azurill, Water Gun! [And a big spurt of water rockets out from Azurill's mouth and hits the mirror.]

Was that really necessary?

[Yeah, that was kind of dumb. At least it didn't hit the girl on the other side?]

I guess not. But it was still pretty amazing, wasn't it?

I suppose. I certainly can't shoot a stream of water from my mouth.

It's because Azurill knows water-type moves! There's different types of Pokémon, and different types of moves they can learn.
