[Hikari pauses for a moment, lost in silence. She remembers the last time she confided with someone about how she was dead. That being when she was influenced by chocolates. She goes for a half-truth.]

I miss my home, too. [She can tell when humans aren't telling the truth, but in the end it tells her very little. There are so many shades of truth. It's not absolute.]

I hope you'll be able to return someday soon. Maybe the Queen only means to keep us here temporarily.

[She smiles, and looks out over the Orchard, nostalgic.]

Tokyo-3 is a really big city that has tons of skyscrapers that retract underground in case there's an attack. I went to school everyday, except for holidays and weekends, of course. I lived in a townhouse with my father and my two sisters.

Thank you, Hikari. I don't believe I'll be able to go home, but there must be a way for others to go back. [She says this quite calmly and sincerely.]

It sounds much like the Tokyo I know, except for the buildings that retract. [Epsilon is familiar with huge urban areas, but she's never heard of retractable skyscrapers before. Maybe it's some kind of precaution, in case of war?] There aren't too many attacks, I hope. The buildings protect people?

You're welcome. But, why wouldn't you be able to go home?

[She kind of winces at the attacks part, but she recovers from it with a smile.] We do get attacks from Angels, but EVAs can handle them.

That's all right, Hikari. [She gives a small, if tired smile.] What I wanted was to protect those I care for, and that's what I did.
