[Even though it had been nearly two months since her beloved Zinc had been uprooted from the land of lesbians and sunshine, Gavril still felt the sting of their far-to-soon separation. As of late Gavril had taken to residing in the white house Zinc had once called home, amidst the mechanical insects and the trees she had planted the previous year, the zombie girl had spent far to much time reminiscing about the past year, eating raw meat, and drinking and drinking and drinking.

Though it would literally take a small tanker truck of booze to get Gavril drunk, she was at least a little buzzed as she played with the little mechanical bug Zinc had left behind in the wake of her sudden departure. Rather serene looking amidst the house's small garden, having visitors would be a nice change of pace.]

I have a few important appointments later--seeing a guy about the clean energy Stark Tower's using, meeting Pepper to discuss the last phase of the renovations, a suit to work on to save the world in... You know, the normal, every-day things. So, uh, no time for a tea party, I'm booked clear into next year. But hey, if you get in touch with Pepper, I'm sure we can work something out, right, Queenie?

[Because obviously the queen has to be looking at this, right? And it's pretty rude to ignore someone as important as Toni Stark. Though now she'll finally address the rest of the Gardens.]

And the rest of you--what's a girl gotta do to get a shawarma or something around here? Got any good restaurants? Especially ones with cheeseburgers. Been doing a little too much of the around the world thing, I need something American.

[She's been spending the past few days getting to know the Gardens. It's an odd place, and there are some odd things here, but not many that are stranger to her than the building she finds herself standing before now.

It's a greatly reduced and somewhat battle scarred version of a building she knows well, and she's not sure what it's doing here in such an idyllic spot, in the midst of so many green trees and bright flowers. The earth around the structure looks like it was scorched bare at some point, but the grass is already growing there again, covering the old damages. The Vine has wound itself around the building. It doesn't look like anyone's been there in some time.

But it's not completely abandoned. There's a solitary clockwork robot, silver and spider-shaped, as large as a medium-sized dog, pacing around the perimeter of the building. It comes running up to Aerith as she approaches. She starts, fingers tightening on her rod, but it seems it only wants to greet her, so at last, though still a little wary, Aerith pets it. This appears to make it happy, or about as happy as a robot spider can seem. It circles her, remaining at her feet for the time being.

After a long time staring up at the small copy of Shinra Headquarters, Aerith turns to the Vine. It senses her intent and displays a mirror.]

Hello everyone. Is anyone out there today? If I don't know you already, my name's Aerith.

[The Gardens are such a quiet place, she's not necessarily sure of getting a reply, but it's worth trying.]

Has anyone else found anything familiar here? This building... I know it, from back home. Do you know how it came to be here?

[But that's not the only question that's been on her mind.]

And I was wondering, what were you all doing, before? Right before you came here, I mean.

So. Where's this so-called queen? And how do I get back? I have too much to do to be sitting around here, making peace and harmony or whatever.

[She audibly gags at that, actually.]

I'm not some weak little sap.

[She doesn't expect answers, and she feels stupid for even doing it. So she leaves the mirror behind and starts to explore.

Maybe something in this stupid place will appeal to her.]

Okay, I'll play along for a little bit and believe that kitty cats can tell me what I need to know. [Since it's so ridiculous she might as well have fun with this...whatever it is. They got her clothes and food, at the least.] They can't, however, tell me if this beautiful building by the lake is in use or not, so if they aren't lying this'll get the word out. Who owns it, and if the answer is no one, then I might just go spruce it up-sound good? [It's what she knows, so why not? Though you really shouldn't have to clean in a fantasy.]

[Having returned to the Pagoda after the Doctor left, Kariya wasn't aware of anything strange at first. She was often alone at the Pagoda, except for the dogs. But days passed, and the once lively Vine was still and silent. There were no messages. Hour by hour, she began to feel more alone and more puzzled.

So she left the Pagoda and the dogs that followed her like attendants while she was there. Surely someone was still around? Her shuffling, limping gait was unhurried. She'd been healed somewhat by the snakes, but the worms continued their interior assault, and she was growing worse again, day by day. There was another way to assuage the pain and halt her deterioration, but that wasn't an option she'd chosen to take, so this was her lot. She could bear it. If she died again, she'd be revived again, and it would continue until she was able to find her way home, back to the War. It was odd, to have such a distant feeling about her own death, but things were different here. Death was different.

It was so quiet in the Gardens. Among the trees and flowers, she heard birds calling but no human voices. She felt like the last person in the world. It was an odd, lonely feeling. Kariya made her slow way to the orchard, to the silent arcade, to the lake of blood, and finally, found herself at the pale crumbled ruins at the center of everything. She rested a hand on the cool, white stone to hold herself up. Where was everyone?

And last, she reached out for a tendril of Vine and asked:]

A few days ago, she was on top of the world. She had finally been intimate with her girlfriend, she loved the party, had even spoken to Akiha in the baths without it falling into some crazy stupid fight! But a lot can change in a few days, and on this one, Fionna was feeling bloated and achy. It was a certain time of the month, and usually, Fionna would mope but try to be a little bit cheerful. But in that same matter of days, even with the party, came the few days after. She knew Alessa had gone, and that had made her sad, definitely. But then she got news about others. Sanae. Nue. Akira. Her recently pillow fighting friend of awesome, Mugi. But then came the one that felt like a drop kick to the stomach. The one, when hearing it, made her tear out of the tree fort, fists clenched, and made her attack several defenseless trees, grunting and making frustrated noises because this did not make her feel better.

And then the period happened, so Fionna was at her surliest, glowering in the distance, not finding any real reason to want to do anything but sit by herself in the gardens. Her face was blotchy, so draw your own conclusions.

[The Vine opens a mirror to anyone passing by it to show the inside of an empty building. A place of finery, there was no movement. No sound. Nothing...

The mirror closes and a few moments later, it opens again, to show the inside of the same building, but a different place. A room untouched. A bed unmade. Trinkets around, but there was a thin layer of dust on them.

Again, the mirror closes and reopens a bit later to show the outside of this building. The gardens. They were untended, but finally there was so movement. Barely visible was a distressed looking Hoppip waving its fronds at something with cries of 'Hoppip! Hoppip!'

A voice responds, quiet but with a cruel edge to it, finally identifying the seemingly abandoned building as the Tohno Mansion.]

Your cries mean nothing to me. She's gone. They're all gone. You should leave, too, before I eat you.

[The Hoppip continues to cry out and draw close until it screams as one frond catches on fire. It flails about, putting the fire out before retreating. To the viewers of the mirror, it was hiding in the garden out of sight of Akiha.]

Go... leave.

[There's movement then as Akiha passes by the mirror, heavy streaks of vermillion running through her black hair. When she glances over at it, there is something distinctly non-human in her eyes. She narrows them, but says nothing, continuing on her way. A few seconds later, the mirror closes.]

[Since her encounter with Yuuka last month, Reimu hasn't been out much. She lost a lot of blood during her thorny kiss, and whenever she talked they opened up. Now that she has mostly healed(though her mouth is still sore and her mouth still looks a bit raw), she is out looking over what madness the queen has done now.

You may find her looking at a painting of (OOC:I'll let you guys decide what she is looking it). She doesn't look to happy about the picture, as she starts to put seals around the area, to try and prevent people from falling into it. Chances of it actually working though are slim.]

[Across the Vine in the afternoon, a letter writes itself openly, not directed at anyone even though she really means it go to a number here. It's a little outside her comfort zone to write something so open like this, but it's necessary. A lot of people have disappeared over the last year, and who knows when the next one might happen?

Friends...how much she's come to appreciate them in the last two years, and even more now that she can't simply upend her magical shield to see those she's lost again. It doesn't mean they're gone forever or dead, but it does make them feel distant.]

In just a few hours it will be the New Year. I really cannot believe how fast the last year has gone; soon I will even turn sixteen.

I am sure I will see some of you at the party tonight, but I want to say thank you to everyone who has helped Madoka and me over this past year. It really means a lot to me.

This year has not been without its hardships, but maybe the next year here will be greater if we can work together.

I hope for your favor again in the coming year.

I'm going to host another party at the inn on Monday night starting at sunset. If I figured it out right, that's when the New Year will be.

Hey there... no. Hello, everyone. I'm not sure how I should be going about this, but... I was wondering if anyone wants to be friends? This isn't something I've ever really done before, I just suddenly figured out I lead a sad and lonely life here and that I never really got to know some people here like I probably should.

So... I guess I should introduce myself then. I'm Sayaka Miki. I... used to be a normal Japanese girl who went to school, and all that, but you know, can't really do that anymore. I think I should be around fifteen by now, but I never really understood how time around here works.
