--kidding? It's been a year and that woman--

[There's a seething hiss then, the Vine opening the mirror after the sun has set, and the profile of a familiar young woman with long dark hair can been seen in the shadows, the moonlight reflecting off of the white shift she's wearing.

Akiha tilts her head back, turning it up toward the sky, and closes her eyes. She counts to ten, calming her temper. Reaching up to tuck some hair behind her ear, a gold bangle on her wrist, she lets out a slow breath before looking around for her clothes. A cat skitters away as Akiha turns from the mirror muttering.]

Bring me back-- Don't even know if that idiot and brute are still here-- Ridiculous.

If the mansion isn't still here, I'm going to...

[Her voice trails off as she finds her clothes and walks out of view of the Vine, not even realizing it had been on. The Vine and Akiha still don't get along.]


[Eventually, Akiha finds the mansion, glad to see it's intact. She heads inside and immediately goes upstairs to her bedroom. Better catch her before the door is closed or she won't be seen until morning.]

You won't find one. I certainly had no forewarning before I found myself back in Misaki City nor do I remember how I left.

...and is that disheveled, unladylike appearance common for you?

Not now. Back then, though... I don't like who I was a year ago.

Good. Now I'm going to head back to the mansion and get some sleep. It's been exhaustingly hot in Misaki City.

...oh! That reminds me. I should have the pool done in just a few more days. I'm trying to do as much as I can without the magic sand, but it's harder than I thought. [ Not as hard when "digging up a hole in the ground" is as easy as punching it really hard ]

[Kris would prefer to be evasive around that statement. So instead, she just finishes up the bed and sits on the side of it.]

We'll see how much sleep I actually get.

[Because adjusting to a 'new' place isn't easy for her.]

But that sounds good. It's not as sweltering here as back home right now, but it's still hot.

[ Akiha sounds a little... different? Maybe it's just the hour. Maybe it's just Subaru's imagination. She half expected a different reaction.

But that can wait. Subaru smiles softly. ] As usual, if I can help, just let me know. Okay? I'll let you go for now and ... I can come by and cook something up tomorrow, if you want?

[Akiha crawls into bed and beckons Kris to join her.]

She says it was sweet and that I'm lucky. I don't like agreeing with her, but I have to this time.

[She takes that invitation and crawls under the covers.]

[It has been a year.]

[ People can change over a year, it's true, but it must have been one heck of a year. ] Mm. Okay then. I'll see you tomorrow. [ She gives the mirror a final wave and then dismisses it. ]

[She scoots on over to be right beside Akiha.]

But enough of this. I have to get back to the mansion and find that idiot.

Even I can;t understand her all the time, but that's just the way she is.
