And the ball that was tossed into Marceline's court fell flat on the ground. Bonni stared off for a second, trying to regain her footing. Maybe Marceline had gotten self conscious after all? 'For the love of Glob, Bon. Are you going to try too hard and chase her off now? Or are you just revert back to being too much of a coward to do anything? Just like you've been with...'
Bonni cut the thought off abruptly; she didn't want to hear it, or even think it. That nagging anxious inner voice of hers was getting louder, more obnoxious, and that probably meant that Bonnibel was probably physically and emotionally tired. Maybe getting the plop to bed should be a pretty high priority, and maybe they were all just worn out? Without any further anxiety she put Fionna's portions onto some freshly cleaned sticks, and back into the fire for a bit. Just long enough, she hoped, to get them nice and hot again. "I really totally understand that Fi. We can talk about that stuff whenever, and if-ever you're ready okay? Here you go, let me know if these need any more warming."
And then after serving Fionna's food up, and without a word Bonni slipped out of her clothes, and into her nightshirt. She decidedly didn't make a fuss over it, or even tease Marceline again. It was a little colder in just that short sleeved shirt, but she wouldn't be out in the snow for much longer. And, with a little work, she took charge of her emotions. She was used to that anyway. Taking her emotions by the reigns and leading them to where they needed to go was practically a daily occurrence for her. Bonni brought her sunniest of dispositions back into focus, after all they were just tired, and nothing was wrong. This was the most fun she'd had since, well, since she was thirteen for the second time! She found a new and awesome friend in Fionna, she had resolved some of her own emotional junk and, Peppers and Cumin, she even got to flirt a little! And if that had really bothered Marceline, then Lemons, she wouldn't have been flirting back now would she? Bonni realized that she should be happy right now, not worried and filled with self doubt! And, well, really she was happy, wasn't she!
"Right, right, yeah you're totally right Marcy, we really should! Lemons and limes I can't even think of the last time I was able to stay up this late, and I don't even know how the plum late it is! And besides, there's some stuff I need to do in the morning, when the birds are back."
Bonni leaned up, and gave Fionna and Marceline both hugs, one at a time, and then a big one with all three of them. "Fi, Marcy, thank you both for finding me out in that glob forsaken snow. You both totes saved my buns tonight. And, yeah, we did have a cabbageload of fun! More fun than I've had in the longest time, you guys. And I really mean that."
