[It's night, and Mahalia in back in the Abbey, where she's been staying since the storm. She's been considering trying to sleep, knows she needs it, but after experiencing both Dot and Jessica's dreams, she's scared. It's not simply the content of those dreams, but the fact she'd experienced them at all.

But no one else seems to have said anything about it, like they didn't understand, like they thought it was okay. After several hours trying to distract herself from it, and stay awake, she draws the vine to her.]

It isn't right. Has no one realised? Walking dreams... it's sacred. There's a reason why Bohrre-na sacrifice their memory for it. Power like this shouldn't be dealt with so freely.

[And Fela was missing, almost like they'd put her to one side because of this. The only one who had any right to this sort of power, who could navigate dreams safely and help the dreamers find restful sleep again, and she was gone.]

This won't lead to anything good. The way things work here... [She shakes her head, voice hushed.] Something dreadful is going to happen.

[ Caprica had noticed the small flowers a few days ago, sprouting up everywhere, but hadn't quite given them thought. And now she can't help it — they've slipped into the house, wound their way up the balcony and across the floor.

The blooms are larger, and their scent isn't even subtle anymore — not quite noxious, but just on that edge between pleasant and cloyingly strong. They wind their way along the Vine as it creeps in and unfolds the mirror.

She was boiling hot water for tea, but unwinding one of the flowering vines from the edge of the kitchen counter has distracted her. A small frown turns down the corners of her mouth. ]

Something's wrong. [ It's almost said to herself, but then her gaze flicks over to the mirror — she knew it was there. ]

Have you noticed? These flowers, they're everywhere.
