Homura Akemi ♦ 暁美 ほむら

[It is quite a dark and stormy night afternoon outside, as anyone in the Gardens probably has picked up by now. Homura certainly picked up on it quickly; the winds alone are just a little reminder of some rather darker days in her past.

The lack of a weather forecast meant there was no chance to prepare by boarding up storm windows, as one might do during a typhoon. But somehow The Apartments were holding together alright, even while the winds pushing the trees around outside is rather frightful. Even though it looks kind of like a pile of children's toys, one could hardly say that the structure wasn't durable the way it kept out this storm.

Before the storm descended on them, Homura had planned to stop by the library for a bit and maybe drop by the Orchards for some produce, but with this storm, she's understandably reluctant to step outside. It seems a bit pointless even to wield her magic and go out in the rain to do that; she would end up soaked in any case, even if the wind may pause. She could probably fight with it even as it is now, with time flowing freely, but it would still be rather uncomfortable. But Homura still hopes that it might let up in a few more minutes, turning into just a much more peaceful drizzle.

Stopping by down in The Apartments' lobby, she takes a longing look out through the windows, an umbrella and raincoat in hand, just in case. For ever so slightly, it seemed like it might have been letting up, only for it to return with full force. But, even with the outlook dim, she intends to linger around a few more minutes before heading back upstairs to her apartment.]

[Lithuania had been forced to make a run in the sudden rain to the nearest building that didn't look like it was falling apart, and so had ended up in the library with Leafeon close on her heels. There were worse places to spend a storm, she supposed, once you got over the strange selection of books and ignored the books on sex in favor of the poetry collections.

She moved a large chair near to a window and is sitting there. There's a large pile of books beside the chair within easy reach, but she's ignoring those in favor of staring out the window at the rain. There's a half-finished Emily Dickinson collection on her lap.

Leafeon, for the record, is perched on the back of the armchair like a cat.]

It's lasting a long time, for a storm.

-video-

[The area with the ovens may be practically flooded out, but Jessica has a wagonful of magic dirt and she's not afraid to use it. There is now a small kitchen in one of the arena's interior halls, with the implements of baking scattered about and one very busy young woman very angrily using them.

[She notices the mirror's on her and glares at it, vigorously stirring some batter.]

Okay, I get it: build, but don't bother trying to make things better or useful. Because you assholes are so much more powerful than we puny mortals could possibly aspire to be, ever. Just accept that we're your damn pets now. Fine, whatever.

-action; arena-

[Later, as the smells of baked goods permeate the halls, Jessica is stalking the area with a wagon full of pancakes. And muffins. And cookies. And cupcakes. And also a bulbasaur in the back, happily enjoying a few set aside for her. Sooner or later, she will find you. You will receive delicious baked goods. You have no choice in the matter. The power of Angry Jessica compels you!]

[For the past couple days, Kyoko has been in the arcade playing the Hell out of every game she could find. It was almost as if she was completely oblivious to the storm outside. In fact, maybe she was.]

Oh yeah, new record high score!

[She jumps up from whatever she was playing and dances around in victory.]
